Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Outlook is a very popular and easy to use email client for Windows. While it isn’t free, usually part of a Microsoft Office package, if you have an established business it is probably worth it. If you don’t have it or want to purchase it, you can use Thunderbird or our webmail.

Setting Up A New Account

If you need to set up a new account, follow these steps. If you have an existing email but only need to edit it, see below.

Open Microsoft Outlook and click on Tools > Account Settings. This will bring up a new window. You should be in the E-mail tab. Click the New button along the top, which will bring up another new window.

Keep the option “Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP” selected and click next.

Do not fill out any of these fields. Instead, check the box at the bottom and click next.

Keep the option “Internet E-mail” selected and click next.

Fill out all the fields here as follows:

Your Name: The name that will appear in the “From” field when you send an email.
E-mail Address: The email we have created for you.
Account Type: POP3
Incoming Mail Server: new.ionrad.com.au
Outgoing Mail Server:  Your internet service provider. For example, if you have internet with Telstra, use mail.bigpond.com. Optus users would use mail.optusnet.com.
User Name: The email we have created for you.
Password: The password we have supplied you with.

Make sure you keep Remember Password checked. Click next and then click Finish! You have now created your email. If you have multiple accounts, just repeat the steps above.

Editing An Existing Account

Open Microsoft Outlook and click on Tools > Account Settings. This will bring up a new window. You should be in the E-mail tab.  Double click the email you wish to change. You will need to manually configure the settings, so if you are given the option “Manually configure server settings or additional server types”, check that box and click next.

If you are offered the option to Choose E-mail Service, keep the option “Internet E-mail” selected and click next.

Now you will be presented with several fields. You should only need to edit the bolded fields, but check all of them just in case.

User Name: The email we have recreated for you.
Password: The password we have supplied you with.

Make sure you keep Remember Password checked. Click next and then click Finish! You have now edited your email. If you have multiple accounts, just repeat the steps above.
