Pages

To add a new page onto a Version 5 site, log in first. Once you've logged in, click the Website Management button on the top left of the screen. This will bring up a large menu along the top of the browser window. Under Structure on the left, click Architecture.

This will take you to the back end of your site. There will be two columns each containing pages on the site. The ones on the left under Sidebar 1 are visible, either in your top navigation or your side navigation. The right column will usually have a note under Sidebar 2 stating that the template does not use this sidebar. This means any pages on the right column won't show up in any navigations on your website. This can be handy when you want to include content like a disclaimer or terms and conditions, but don't want it in the main navigations.

Left Column/Sidebar 1

To add a page to your top navigation, click the Add Page link in the first box called Top. From there, select HTML Page. Next put in a Page Title. As you type, the Navigation Bar Title and URL Identifier will automatically fill out.

While you're here, add a description of your business and this new page into the (optional) Description field. This will help with your search engine results. Click save and you're done. Click the title and you will be taken to the page where you can edit it. See here for how to edit a page.

If you want to add a page to your side navigation if you have one, scroll down the page. You will see another box underneath the one labelled Top, which may have a name or be labelled (untitled). Some sites have several of these boxes to organise the sidebar with nifty little features as well as pages. If you are confused or unsure where to add your page, please put in a support ticket and we can walk you through it.

Right Column/Sidebar 2

To add a page that is hidden, you should have a box in the right column labelled Hidden (Hidden). All the pages here will be slightly paler in comparison to the ones on the left, to signal that they are hidden and cannot be accessed through a navigation.

Under the label Hidden, click Add Page. A pop up will appear showing a selection of different types of pages. Select HTML Page.

Enabling the Page

When you first create a page, it is disabled. This is handy to work on the page without your in progress works appearing on the site. When you are satisfied with your page, navigate to the Architecture view again. Find your page and hover over the title for a small bar to appear, then click Enable. Your page is new viewable by the public!
